Ik zal vast een van de weinigen zijn die de hype rond Second Life niet begrijpt. Ja, ik houd wel van leuke dingen op internet en ik heb wel wat forums en andere favoriete sites. Maar het feit dat mensen een tweede leven gaan voeren onder een andere identiteit gaat me wat ver. En niet omdat ik nou zo nodig vind dat mensen dat niet mogen doen, maar vooral omdat men er nu zodanig in op gaat dat het net zo belangrijk lijkt te worden als het echte leven . Er gaat gewoon grof geld in om en bedrijven gaan het zelfs belangrijk vinden om aanwezig te zijn op deze internethype!  Gelukkig is er nu Get a first life , dat probeert het gedoe om Second Life wat te relativeren, maar vooral mensen te laten realiseren dat vluchten in een schijnwerkelijkheid niet de oplossing is. Een leven op internet, OK, maar laat het niet je leven beheersen! Salliant detail is trouwens wel dat de ‘Google ads’ op de pagina allemaal van Second Life zijn…

Binnenkort weer wat meer op dit log, ik hoop op korte termijn wat meer over onze verbouwing en verhuizing hier te plaatsen. Bedankt voor het geduld en voor het regelmatig kijken hier!

I might be one of the few people on this planet that doesn’t get the hype that’s called Second Life. Yes I like the internet and I got a few online hang-outs, but getting another life online, to get away from real life is not how I’d like to spend my spare time. The biggest problem being that it seems like it’s becoming as important as (or more important than) real life… Second Life has become big money and even companies are taking this so seriously that they think it’s important to be a part of this internethype! So I’m actually glad that now there’s Get a first life , that relativates this thing and mght make people realise that you can’t hide from real life. It’s alright to have a ‘life’ on the internet, but it shouldn’t take over your real life! A bit ironic are the Google ads on Get A First Life, as they are all from: Second Life…
